A letter from Ben Johnson of Bardstown dated August 14 1906 responds to H A Humphrey of the Nelson County Anti Saloon League. Johnson states he has always voted for Local Option and will vote accordingly in Nelson County's September 1 1906 election and any future votes where he is eligible.
Ernest Steinhardt fifty seven years old who once sold liquor resigned at his wife's wish and then killed himself with morphine in St Louis on August 8. His home is believed to be 225 West Eighth street New York City. He formerly worked as a traveling salesman for a Kentucky whisky house.
Mrs M C Keeling spent Thursday with Mr and Mrs Sade Coulter. A daughter born to the wife of J M Montgomery on Sunday. Mr Oscar Shewmaker of Louisville visited friends here as did Mrs 8 H Crook and Miss Jessie Noel. A ballgame at Willisburg Saturday afternoon pitted married men against singles, the former winning 4 to 2. Mr M C Keeling and family visited Brooksville Sunday. Mr Iven Armstrong and wife attended Glencreek meeting. Mr Hellum Keeling spent Sunday here. George Cutsinger and family visited John Armstrong. L N Dean and son George visited relatives at Tatham. A meeting is planned at this place. Joe Noel and Miss Hattie Settles attended Glencreek meeting Sunday night. Miss Jessie Noel spent Saturday with Maud and Eva Inman.
