Springfield meeting sketches campaign planning and notices
An informal gathering at the Court House on Saturday night set plans for the convention on the 25th with Capt. Geo. M. Jones as chairman and G. J. B. Skinner as secretary. A committee led by Col. Richardson and Maj. Mardin will report resolutions, with arrangements and finance groups named. delegates from the city and county chosen. The meeting approved hospitality for visiting delegates and a banquet at the City Mall Wednesday night, and adjourned.
