The former house of Mrs. William Aitkenhead burned to the ground on Tuesday morning September 18. Now owned by Manfred Ruckert, the fire likely started from an electric stove left on while Mrs. Ruckert tended chickens in the garden. She woke her two sleeping children and neighbors reported no clear insurance status as most belongings were lost.
Edwin Johnson of Kenora Ontario survived by husband two children Sharon and Keith and mother Myrtle Allberg of Beaconia Manitoba. Three sisters Jean Anderson of Red Lake Vera Earl Thomas and Faylin. brother Robert of Indian Head Saskatchewan. Funeral services held Saturday September 15 at Balsam Bay Anglican Church north of Beaconia. Renshaw Funeral Chapel Beausejour assisted.
Four and a half miles of main conveyor traverse the Passenger car assembly line at General Motors Oshawa. About 1,600 cars remain in progressive stages of assembly along the line at any given time.
Mr Gordon Lipps and a girl friend visited at the home of Mr and Mrs Leonard Lipps last weekend. Walter Kretchmer travelled to Kenora Friday to attend the funeral of his cousin Mrs Irene Letain. His mother Ed Kretchmer and aunt C Franz also attended. Friends and relatives helped Miss Karen Wiebe celebrate her birthday on September 20 with a party. Mrs Doreen Wiebe, Mrs Rosie Hawk and Mrs Marilyn Horon sailed to Steinbach last Tuesday.
John Andrelunas 71 of Springwell Manitoba died September 6 at home. Beloved husband of Annie. Funeral held September 8 at Lee River Hall with interment at Lee River Cemetery. Born in Latvia he came to Canada in 1928. Survived by wife two sons Johnny Eddie at home two step sons Anthony Spiloway at home and Joe of Kitchener Ontario. Funeral Homes Ltd. assisted.
