New 10,000 KVA Transformer Mounted at Lac du Bonnet Substation
A 10,000 KVA transformer with automatic voltage regulation arrives by rail and is moved to the Lac du Bonnet substation by Litz movers. It draws 115,000 volts from the high line and feeds 33,000 volts from Seven Sisters Terminal, delivering 7,200 volts to the local distribution system. The unit weighs over 24 tons with 3,760 gallons of oil and will replace the wooden Minnewawa Street substation as electric heating expands.
