Lac du Bonnet Senior School was officially opened on Friday October 15 1971 at 3 30 p m About 400 people attended with Principal Mr Okolita as master of ceremonies Premier Schreyer gave the keynote address introduced by trustee Russell Waters Minister Ben Hanuschak attended After the ceremony keys were presented and an oil painting by Robert Kost presented by Architect Mr Ward The open house followed with coffee and donuts The history notes the 1961 opening and growth leading to the 1971 expansion and new facilities

Veterinary Services For Lac du Bonnet Area
The Agassiz Veterinary District Clinic gains approval to locate in the R M of Lac du Bonnet with a single roof building housing an animal clinic 40 by 48 feet and a 28 by 70 feet veterinary quarters and dispensary. Construction starts within a month. The district covers Whitemouth Pinawa Lac du Bonnet village and surrounding regions with potential Brokenhead participation.

Thieves Break-In Hits Newly Weds Trailer Home
Mr and Mrs Hemminger recently married residents of Brightstone district report a daytime October break-in at their house trailer. A stereo and a Color TV won by Betty Hapko on July 1 Lions Club draw were taken. RCMP detachment investigates.

LAC DU BONNET Reviews Garbage Collection in RM
The RM of Lac du Bonnet will survey residents after a three month trial of garbage collection following numerous complaints and a 45 signature petition asking to discontinue the service. If canceled, taxes levied for the service would be refunded. Reeve W Zarecki notes beneficial changes are possible and a ratepayer meeting will be called.
