Beausejour Women’s Institute staged a November 18 benefit whist drive at the town hall to aid Miss Florence Kal injuk, a talented Beausejour violinist. Twenty three tables of play yielded numerous prize donations from local merchants, with multiple winners in both whist and grand draws and groceries awarded in minor draws.

River Hills Guild Bazaar Nets $203.65

The River Hills Hospital Guild bazaar held November 5 in school rooms drew a large crowd. Attracts included surprise packages, a home made candy stall, dry goods, and a popular raffle. Proceeds totaled $203.65 with winners including Mrs H Alpers and Donald Schwartz of Winnipeg. Auctioneers were H Alpers and A Williams.

Obituary for Jack Molly Passes at 33 in Work Accident

Jack Molly died suddenly while at work on November 5 at age 33. Funeral services were held November 8 at St. Augustine's Church with burial in the local Catholic cemetery. He is survived by his widow Annie, daughter Gail, parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Molly, four brothers Frank Eddie John Joe, and sister Margie. Pallbearers included R. Katchorek and others. a tribute from CPR men noted among floral offerings. Russel funeral home handled arrangements.

A Remembrance Day service was held at Whitemouth Consolidated School on November 11 with public attendance. Principal M Sparrow led the program, John Paulson accompanied, and students performed songs and recitations including In Flanders Fields. Elizabeth Dereski recited Immortality and the choir sang The Soldier's Morning.
