To ensure seed availability farmers in flood damaged regions are asked to report planned potato acreage. Latest seeding dates for a viable crop with an extended fall are listed: tomatoes May 20, cabbage May 25, cauliflower May 25, Brussels sprouts June 7, cucumbers June 10, vegetable marrow June 10, squash June 10, beans July 10, beets July 15, carrots July 15, lettuce July 15, Chinese cabbage July 15, peas July 15, potatoes July 15, turnips July 15, spinach July 15 to August 1.
Braund-Davis Weddings In Pipestone United Church

Flood Duty Volunteers Help Lac du Bonnet Rescue Efforts
Jim Russell and Eddie Markusson returned to the Forestry Service base at Lac du Bonnet after nine days of canoe operations in the Morris flood zone. The area was heavily hit and evacuated, with feed and water supplies delivered to animals while evacuees were evacuated. They rescued farm animals by canoe including cows horses and even a duck.

A Whitemouth Ladies Hospital Guild dance on May 12 with music by the Whitemouth orchestra raised 48 dollars for the hospital fund. Eddie Hill and Dorothy Noel won first spot dance prizes, Connie Aitkenhead and Stanley Kauzba won second, Violet Giesbrecht drew the door prize ticket, with proceeds paid to the guild.
