Caution urged in homedry cleaning dangers warned
Ross Witzer of the provincial fire commission warns two Saskatchewan deaths since February due to dry cleaning with gasoline. He cites a Saskatoon case where a 40 year old mother of two burned to death cleaning curtains with gasoline. He explains gasoline vapors can form explosive mixtures with air, ignited by any spark or flame, and urges using carbon tetrachloride or other nonflammable solvents only in well ventilated spaces.
