Over 400 people attended a free Imperial Oil entertainment program at the Lac du Bonnet community hall last Thursday evening. A daytime matinee for teaching staff and 212 local students preceded the main event. Sponsor Oscar F. Bjornson and assistants presented films including New Lands To Old and Search Unending plus two comic shorts. Door prizes donated by Bjornson were a highlight.

Pine Falls library boosts holdings with 1000 plus new books funded by the Manitoba Paper company donations a tea by the Coronation Rebekah lodge and civic gifts. A May 7 party at St. Mary's parish hall Beausejour honored Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Wilgosh on their 40th anniversary. About 165 friends attended with gifts of chrome furniture and an electric toaster. Lac du Bonnet RM held its May 3 meeting with Reeve E. Wojciechowski as chair. Officials discussed a 21-name drainage petition, a 31-13-9E drainage denial due to funds, land sales to F Betker and Ed Kafka lease, and set May 23 as the Court of Revision date. Final reading approved transfer in lieu of taxes for NE and Ss 9-13-10E, with numerous accounts paid.

The Winnipeg Doodlebugs Manitoba senior girls hockey champions held their wind-up at the home of Mr and Mrs T G Wawryshyn in Tyndall. They received the cup emblem and each member got a sweater with the team crest. Coach Wilfred Jurausky was given a signet ring by the team. A special grandmothers cake by Mrs. W Splett, plus a musical program with Connie Trithart and Florence Kalyniuk, highlighted the evening. Whitemouth Allows Hospital Tax Prepayment
