Birthday celebration yields hospital funds and prizes

Mrs. Oscar Petterson and Mrs. J Moran donated a prize won by Mrs. R Yeo at a birthday party for Mrs. Alec Hill. Proceeds of four dollars go to buy furniture for the hospital waiting room. Local residents attend weddings, balls, and visits as Whitemouth notes detail social life and health updates.

Masons Meet In East Kildonan and Local Guild Notes

Mrs Jack Jaques J French J J Jackson R Towler and R Gohn attended a Masonic meeting Tuesday evening in East Kildonan. The Ladies Guild of the Church of the Advent met on Tuesday March 14 at the home of Mr and Mrs L Taylor with fifteen members present and lunch served by the lunch committee. Next meeting planned at Mrs J Nixon's home. Visitors to Winnipeg included Mr and Mrs Bert Calder and Mr and Mrs M Dansereau who attended Lettelier Fort William hockey at the Amphi theatre. Mrs W K Spence spent four days in Winnipeg visiting relatives during the weekend of March 10. Mrs W Sokoloski is ill with the flu this week and wishes for a speedy recovery for Mr McNairway who is in hospital.

St Patrick Tea Run by Riverside Ladies Nets 587

On St Patrick's day the St Theresa parish daughters hosted a silver tea at the Chateau hall with 12 tables full from 3 to 6 pm. Mrs Reid, Mrs Randall and Mrs Coulombe led operations with many helpers. Sales included bakery items and handmade goods. items awarded included a doll to Miss McKay, a Riverside Ladies Club blanket to Mrs Victorine Vincent, a linen cloth to Mrs Jacobs, and a cushion to Mrs Mary Frolhk. Receipts totaled 587.30. Best wishes go to Dan Dutka in hospital.

A musical quartet from Sioux Falls North Dakota will present a program at White Mouth Baptist Church on Saturday March 8 at 7 p.m. The notice also reports Mrs. Alex Duncan of Winnipeg rushed to hospital for an operation with wishes for speedy recovery.
