Special Program At Lac du Bonnet Home and School
At the Lac du Bonnet Home and School Association meeting on Tuesday March 6 at 8 15 pm at the school a special film program and health exhibits will be presented with courtesy of the Department of Health and Public Welfare. The hour long film will be followed by a public viewing of the exhibits with pamphlets posters diagrams and more. It aims to raise local health standards and may include a brief discussion. All members and friends are urged to attend.

Outdoor Party At Bird River For Portage Students
A party of 15 high school students visited Bird River on Sunday hosted by Rowland Hammerstedt at Portage Lodge. After a substantial meal they enjoyed skiing and snowshoeing then danced at Lac du Bonnet before returning. Sponsor W L Hammerstedt announced a one week all‑expenses paid holiday essay prize for the best essay on the day.

At Mrs Paul Swetz’s home the event mixed curling with stories and songs as guests and organizers praised Mrs M V Faris and the hostess. Miss M Mikolachuk of Pointe du Bois won the Camera draw.

Anton B. Weselak is named a member and will head the Beausejour office. He and his family reside above the Crawford block law office. Fire Destroys Rudy Home On Lac du Bonnet
A fire discovered at 11:30 a.m. Thursday damaged the Rudy home on Lac du Bonnet Third Street, likely from a chimney fault. Mrs. Rudy and her young daughter were aided by neighbors and found temporary housing. the laundry next door and belongings were preserved. The asbestos siding helped confine the blaze despite a stiff breeze.

Papertown Bonspiel Debuts With 28 Rinks In Pine Falls
The J N Wise rink from Winnipeg Strathcona Curling Club won the Paper Event at the first annual Papertown Bonspiel in Pine Falls held February 25 to 27. Twenty eight rinks competed across Paper Woods Groundwood and Sulphite divisions with prizes donated by local clubs and sponsors.

About 70 junior to senior high students traveled from Lac du Bonnet to Winnipeg by CPR chartered train to view Hamlet at the Garrick Theatre. Guides toured the Legislative buildings and Manitoba History Museum, with time for city exploration before the show and a return trip lunch on the train.
