Darlene Meyer from Lac du Bonnet won Miss Centennial Manitoba in St. Rose du Lac. A large crowd gathered at Walter's Shell garage to welcome her home after the parade. A pink convertible led the procession with about twenty cars in tow as well wishers celebrated the achievement.

Million Dollar Resort Expansion Planned Near Flin Flon
A $1 million expansion program for a northern Lac du Net area resort near Flin Flon will add 33 units three convention rooms an indoor swimming pool and artificial curling ice facilities. Existing Wendigo facilities to be upgraded include a dining room and walk cafe with total cost around $400 000.
