Poultry Meeting At Beausejour Hall This Thursday

A Beausejour poultry meeting is set for 2:00 pm at Medpal Hall Beausejour with attendees Mr ER Hooey and Mr Jo R Cameron. Canada Department of Agriculture and Manitoba Agriculture will discuss marketing poultry eggs flock approval and related questions.

Norman Malyk Killed in East Norman Car Crash

Norman Malyk 23 died in an automobile crash between Georgetown and Milton Ont on Sunday evening June 10. Swerving to avoid an oncoming car caused the driver to lose control, the car turned over in a ravine fifteen feet deep. He was taken to Brampton Hospital and died four hours later from a punctured lung on June 11. The driver sustained only minor injuries. Funeral held at 5 pm Wednesday June 13 with floral tributes from Lac du Bonnet and pallbearer Ed Okrainec, formerly of Brightstone.

Manitoba Farmers Union District 10 Convention at Beau Sejour

Pine Falls Graduation Exercises Hold Commencement

Pine Falls held graduation exercises at the Legion Hall on June 1 with Dr K Johnson as welcome speaker. Hon R W Bend spoke on health and welfare, Keith Cork delivered the valedictory, and Miss Anne Inkster read class histories. Awards were presented by local lodges and council. dances followed. Graduates included Grade XII seniors Julia Dudka and Anne Inkster, and Grade XI students Wayne Anderson and Keith Cork.

Manitoba forestry program plants pine red pine jack pine and white spruce in Marchand Pineland nurseries and on Sandilands and Avassiz reserves. About 590000 trees on Sandilands and 360000 on Avassiz, plus 50000 trees for shelter belts, and 1000 pine and spruce donated to Vita after a tornado. One and a half million seedlings moved from seeds to transplant lines as part of expansion.

Decoration Day at Pine Falls Ceremony

The Canadian Legion BESS Branch No 64 held a Decoration Day Service at the Pine Falls Cenotaph on June 16 at 2. The program opened with the war on Canada and a one minute silence followed.
