The Ukrainian National Choir, organized and directed by Mr. Zenon Moroz of Tyndall, includes members from Tyndall Garson Poplar Park and Gonor. Lac du Bonnet Pilot Makes Mercy Flight

Lac du Bonnet pilot Mike Mulhall flew a 350 mile mercy flight to transport an iron lung polio patient to The Pas hospital. In Winnipeg a lung was loaded and brought to The Pas by pilot Bob Hunter with Dr J A Hildes aboard. The seven hour journey ended with ambulance transfer at Middlechurch.

Stork Delivers Baby En Route to Pine Falls Hospital

On Wednesday July 21 a baby was born on No 11 highway between Mc Arthur Falls and Great Falls while an Indian woman was being rushed by Barry Wilkes of Central Northern Airways toward Pine Falls hospital. The car had a bump in the road and sounds of a newborn were heard in the back seat. Mother and baby arrived at the hospital and were reported doing fine.

Premier Reports River Levels Rise Across Manitoba Rivers

The Premier notes rising water levels on the Winnipeg, Assiniboine and Saskatchewan rivers through Manitoba. Winnipeg River surpassed 93 000 cfs at Slave Falls last week of June and may top 98 000 cfs from the 1950 record, as Lake of the Woods holds near full supply. Lac Seul rose and Norman Dam outflow remained steady while Lac d Bonnet shows a falling level.

Army Worms Near Maturity Threaten Manitoba Fields

North Eastern Manitoba reports army worm activity winding down after days of voracious feeding. Beausejour and Whitemouth districts bore the heaviest damage to grain and hay, with John Matchak and Michael Morris farms among the worst hit. Local crews used Aldrin spray, bran and Paris green mixtures, and arsenate of lime to curb the invasion as larvae linger for days before maturing into moths.

Tyndall Couple Celebrates 25th Anniversary in Winnipeg

About two hundred guests attended a twenty fifth wedding anniversary party for Mr and Mrs Arni Stefansson of Tyndall held in the basement of First Lutheran church in Winnipeg on June 20. Dr Harold Blondell nephew of the couple led the program as master of ceremonies. Gifts included a radio and record player an album of operatic recordings desk lamps and cash. Stefansson sang Danny Boy and guests joined in a sing song to close the afternoon.
