Pine Falls youths recount a hitchhiking voyage from Winnipeg to New York aboard the Maasdam, visiting Niagara Falls and Toronto, then onward to New York City sights before a transatlantic crossing to Southampton. They travel to London and Scotland, noting Glasgow's grimy industry and Edinburgh's beauty, amid coronation plans.
Mr and Mrs Bill Dolennik and friend Paul Pasieka toured California and other states for two weeks. Other travelers included Mr and Mrs P Barton and Max Barton to Indiana during Philipp’s holidays. Freddie Gray of Lockport visits relatives for the holidays. A farewell party at Mr and Mrs N Budnarchuk marked Ronnie Budnarchuk’s departure for Vancouver to train with the RCMP. Visitors to Mike Hnatuk’s home included George Hutton, Mr and Mrs Nestor Dolennik and family from Waterford Ontario. Grandchildren Phyllis 11 Darlene 8 Gary 3 visit while Bill Butsman recovers from polio in hospital. A stag and shower at the Orange Hall honored Peter Yarmill and Elsie Ewanochko who wed July 25. Guests at A Winkler’s included Mr and Mrs A Currie. Jane Moore now resides with her niece and nephew. Mrs Sergent’s wrist cast will be removed soon after a fall earlier. J S Chorney and wife returned from a quick Calgary trip. United Church Sunday school picnic was July 15 on the P Lister farm. John Yurkiew and daughter and Mike Yurkiew of Winnipeg vacation with A Yurkiew family. Greek Orthodox dinner held July 12 at Teddie’s Place.

Tony Boretski family returns to Toronto after two weeks here. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Dubel wed in Winnipeg July 18. Gladys Weslak of Medika, Man., is former Mrs. Dubel. R. B. Smorong visits relatives for weekend. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Wendeborn of Flin Flon.
Excellency Bishop K Mak sim with Father Borys and Father Sholchak blessed St Peter and Paul Catholic church at Thalberg on Sunday July 12. A large crowd overflowed the church and a dinner followed in the new hall with tributes from church committees and parish representatives.
A baby boy was born Monday July 13 in Flin Flon hospital. Mrs Geo Proceviat of Ophir Man visited relatives here recently. Mr and Mrs Michael Proceviat have returned home after visits in Brantford and Toronto. Mr and Mrs William Topolinski of Winnipeg stayed with Mrs Ninivirta. Mrs J D Proceviat was rushed to Winnipeg for medical care and is a patient at St Boniface hospital.
Honorable Douglas Abbott, minister of finance, addressed a Liberal rally of about 100 at Beausejour fair grounds Saturday night. He argued tax cuts require preserving defence and social services, touted Dominion-Provincial tax agreements, and urged expanding trade with the U.S.A. Others included G Weir and S Copp, with Anton Weselak the Springfield candidate. J DeMarco gave the welcome as the Steinbach boys' band performed.

Fort Garry captured the Tyndall baseball tournament title on Sunday July 19 defeating host Tyndall 7 to 2 in the final. Fort Garry advanced by beating Whitemouth 2 to 1 and Beausejour 4 to 3 in extra innings while Tyndall overcame Oakbank 10 to 0 and Woodlands in a fault, L.A.W. style advance.
