Paratroopers End Two Week Arctic Battle Near Fort Churchill

A 169 strong British Parachute Regiment unit, 3rd Battalion, wrapped up a two week clash on the Canadian Arctic barrens near Fort Churchill Manitoba 600 miles north of Winnipeg. They began in winter cold after air drops into sub zero conditions January 27, training at Rivers and Camp Shilo for 14 days before returning to Aldershot.
