Powerview Collegiate hosted Student Week February 8 to 12 with workshops and group discussions among pupils and teachers. Students formed groups and a class council to define group aims and enhance school life, while teachers aim for a friendlier, informal rapport after hours. The XBX Streamliner Club of Powerview held its first anniversary supper on Thursday February 4 with Mrs Gertrude Strouken crowned queen last year after losing 46 pounds. Betty Jewel of Channel 7 was to speak but weather warnings kept her away. Mrs Hedy Lewis Manitoba president filled in with remarks on club benefits. Head table included Mrs Lewis, Mrs Jones, Mrs Lovatt, Mrs McCann, Mrs Sippola, and others. entertainment featured Mrs Gilberte Harrison and Andrew Alarie performing as a new singing team.

A quartet from Central Pentecostal College in Saskatoon will sing at Full Gospel Church in Lac du Bonnet on Friday February 19 at 8 00 p m. The college sponsors two courses theology for aspiring ministers and Christian education for church laymen. Supported by Saskatchewan Manitoba North Western Ontario district PAOC churches, the group tours annually to raise funds and share music.

A five room Whitemouth residence owned by Mrs Theresa Ehm was destroyed by a fire of unknown origin on Friday February 12. The attic fire was noticed by Emma Ehm while Mrs Ehm was at Whitemouth Hospital on duty. The house valued at 3500 had little furniture saved and insurance status is unclear.

The Pinawa Women's Club hosted a February 6 fashion show in the school featuring Hudson's Bay Co. of Pinawa Olives fashions from Powerview and Great Falls models from Pinawa and around town.
