Brokenhead Agricultural Society Plans Year's Work
The Brokenhead Agricultural Society met on Monday January 30 to map the year’s activities. The Fall Fair, Poultry Grain and Bacon shows were merged into a single event on November 23, 1956. On Saturday Jan 21 Madames Fred McFadden Tom Fortier S Fredericks G Bieaulieu G Sharpe R Towler R Cambell and J Mitchell were curling guests of the Canadian Legion at Point du Bois. A return outing to Pine Falls is planned for February 4 with rinks from Point du Bois Milner Ridge Lac du Bonnet and the American Air Force base. The Manitoba Paper Mill Company held its annual safety meeting Jan 26 with R Fraser presiding. The Hold Out male quartet opened the gathering with guest speakers McLean and Major King on safety rules. Dr K Johnson spoke on medical precautions and demonstrated artificial respiration with slides. Door prizes went to G Catellier and Miss L Allyson.

Legion to Aid March of Dimes in Pine Falls Bingo
Pine Falls Branch No. 64 of The Canadian Legion plans a Monster Bingo Night on Monday February 13 at 8 30 p m. Proceeds go to the Manitoba March of Dimes. Residents in Pine Falls and area are urged to donate prize items while the Ladies Auxiliary sells hot dogs and coffee. The legion hopes for a strong turnout and prize donations already plenty.

The 15 mile Winnipeg Electric Co line from Seven Sisters to Whitemouth is being dismantled after rails and rolling stock sold to Great West Equipment Co. Local labor lifts rails. four Dinky cars, concrete buggies and a gas electric bus are removed. Bridges sold, main steel bridge to be re installed near Seven Sisters Dam.
