Beausejour’s proud papa Freddie Rumak and first hospital birth
Freeman Rumak, hotel manager and Legion president, celebrates his wife delivering a son at Beausejour Hospital the town marks the first birth in the new facility. Freddie tours streets with cigars as relatives from Lac du Bonnet and Ladywood join the jubilee. The event triggers community talk of a district hospital with thanks from hospital guilds. Doctor Hugh Lippmann attended. The piece threads in local chatter, visits, and a Wendigo tale, plus notes on civic figures and anniversaries, wrapping with Joann Powell’s appointment as justice of the peace.
