The writer tours Bird River and Pine Falls, meeting locals like Joe Miklaychuk, Alex Ard, H Tageson, Charlie Harbottle, Frank Smith, Doc Bissett, and others, praising community vigor and Nordic-Canadian roots while sharing colorful anecdotes from daily life.
