Local Man Receives Kidney Transplant in Lac du Bonnet
Stan Chikowski of Lac du Bonnet received a life changing kidney transplant after seven years of kidney disease. He had one kidney removed two years ago and spent the last year and a half on dialysis, awaiting a donor. The operation at Winnipeg General Hospital used kidneys from a donor in her thirties, with the other kidney flown to Toronto. Doctors report the transplant functioning normally and the family hopes for Stan’s return home in two or three weeks.

Survey To Be Done In Eastman

Manitoba health officials advance plans for a Selkirk Community Health and Social Services Centre Complex. New Air Services To North Get OK
The federal Air Transport Committee approved 8 new or improved northern Manitoba air routes after hearings in Winnipeg. Transair gains YS-11 and HS748 service linking Winnipeg to Norway House and Thompson, with other newly licensed routes including Cross Lake to Wabowden and Pine Falls base flights to Little Grand Rapids Paungassi and Bloodvein.
