Power Extension Into Riverland District Expected After 1953

Manitoba Power Commission official F MacNamara told Lac du Bonnet council that no start would occur before 1953 for extending the rural electrification line about 1 1 2 miles into the Riverland district. The meeting covered assessments, land rights, and planned drainage works with several councillors present. The Court of Revision for the general assessment roll is set for October 11 at 10 30 a.m.

Power distribution sale announced for Lac du Bonnet area

The Village of Lac du Bonnet council August 1 announced Winnipeg Electric will sell the retail power system serving Lac du Bonnet and nearby districts to the Manitoba Power Commission. Rates and service terms were outlined, with a plan to install three phase power and a street lighting contract to follow.

Beausejour Hospital Guild Raises Nearly 150 Dollars

Beausejour Hospital Guild collected nearly 150 dollars through two events. A July 19 dance at Hoban's barn brought in 90 dollars, and a July 28 rummage sale netted 50 dollars. Gratitude was extended to Mr. Hoban for the barn and to Mrs. H Drysdale and her committee. A fall rummage sale was announced.

Guilds to Service Beausejour Hospital discussed at meeting

Possible formation of hospital guilds in outlying districts to service the new Beausejour hospital was discussed by the Hospital Guild of Beausejour executive on August 4. Mrs. E. A. Towle chaired.
