Whitemouth Community News Highlights and Birthdays

Diana Jorgenson visited Vancouver last week while Mrs. Ole Hanstead of Kenora hopes to visit Whitemouth later. The Young People’s club from Ross United church held a cycling outing, and many locals celebrated birthdays and weddings. Mrs. Evelyn Wardrop hosted a reception for her daughter, Mrs. Colin Campbell, a bride from Wa Wa Ont. The community advertises a fundraising tea and a pancake supper, and locals Jill McLean Herta Merke were married in Winnipeg. Several residents travel to Birch River, and a birthday party for Billie Jorgenson was held on July 19. A cold plate supper sale is planned for August 12.

Bernice Locher wed Clarence Keilback at St Marys Beausejour. Each couple plans residence in their new communities after celebrations and trips.

Turner Riddall Wed in Sunny Tyndall United Church

Irene Hazel Riddall and Wilbert Turner were married Saturday July 29 at 7 p.m. at Tyndall United Church. Rev J Maxwell officiated. The bride wore a pale blue nylon gown with lace insets and a halo hat, carrying sweetheart roses. bridesmaid Miss Elsie Malak wore pink. Best man Joe Kielbach and ushers Charlie and Billy Smith attended. Mrs George Stebbe sang during the signing and Mr Margeson played. A reception followed at the Turner home. the couple plans to reside in Beausejour after their wedding trip.

Bible School To Close With Friday Program

Ebenzer Lutheran church Riverland has run two weeks of daily vacation Bible school. Twenty two children aged three to 14 were expected to attend but the goal was not reached. The closing program is set for Aug. 4 at 7 30 p.m. with coffee served afterward and invitations extended to parents and friends.

Newly Formed Lutheran League Elects Officers

Irvin Klepatz was named president of the newly formed Lutheran league at a Whitemouth meeting. Other officers include Anita Hill as vice president Wilma Schatkowsky as treasurer Ruth Locht as literature secretary and Ernie Steiner as service secretary.

YPC Organizer Visits Beausejour Whitemouth District

J O Val Lavergne new organizer for the Young Progressive Conservatives of Canada visited Whitemouth and Beausejour this week. He aimed to form an active Beausejour White mouth club and planned a Springfield riding social in October with possible eastern federal officials as speakers. Lavergne then traveled west toward Alberta and British Columbia.
