Mrs John Hardy of Rennie Manitoba will mark her 85th birthday on Saturday April 26. She has been confined to bed for several weeks according to Leader representative Mrs T G Erskine Whitemouth. The Leader and friends extend warm congratulations and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
The wedding of Frances Jane Drysdale and Wilfred James Drysdale took place Saturday April 5 at the Carman home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sylvester. Rev. C H Hetherington officiated with Dorothy Sylvester as bridesmaid and Hubert Peterson as best man. The couple plans to reside in Carman after a reception and motor trip to Kansas City Missouri.
Reeve Ed Henderson presided at the monthly Whitemouth Council meeting with Councillors Kellins Large Siter and Rerick present. The School Board urged immediate payment of the debenture debt delaying the new school construction, with expectations of no delay in payoff within a week or two.

Halloween pranksters stole Mrs. B. Warkentin’s garden gate last October 31 leaving no clue to its location. Neighbors report no suspicion but the community shared concern as the missing gate becomes a local talking point.

Manitoba U student Henry Uda returns after a summer at the mine joining Vern Sinclair among returning spring students.

Tyndall branch of the Canadian Legion held a Vimy Banquet on April 9 to commemorate the Vimy Ridge battle. The program opened with a concert, followed by brief addresses from A. McLeod of Tyndall, William Splett of Beausejour, and Col. Maxwell of Winnipeg, then dancing and lunch. Acknowledgments named L. Erickson J. Kostuik A. Gillis R. Morden J. Bourgeault M Kotello and the Misses Kantor and Hopps for their concert contributions.
