Representative Moore sponsors new law on county bridge costs

Representative John Robert Moore backs a measure defining how to measure bridge distance from county lines to allocate costs by natural road courses, aiming to prevent overcharging neighboring counties. The bill, backed by Moore with Supreme Court references, passed 2 to 1 and would aid Henry and Bureau counties. A second bill would move road tax from villages under 500 to fully fund village streets, with Andover, Henry County, showing particular interest, and it awaits Governor signature after passing both houses. A third bill would allow county clerks to close on Saturday afternoons for a half holiday, favored by Bureau, Henry, and Stark counties, but opposed by many downstate and some Cook county reps, passing the house narrowly.
