Territorial Politics and Immigration Debates in New Nation

The document surveys political endorsements, platform planks, and policy debates tied to a territorial statehood bid. It endorses Hancock English, argues for Washington Territory statehood, criticizes current Indian policy, and calls for restricted Chinese immigration, liberal federal funding, and open rivers. It also contrasts Republican and Democratic positions and outlines migration routes and costs for eastern migrants to the newly opened region.
