Washington Territory Act Regulates Real Estate Actions
The act authorizes parties with a valid interest to sue in the District Court to recover property. It requires the plaintiff to state estate details while defenses may be raised, and it recognizes receipts from U S land offices as prima facie evidence of title. It assigns deed duties to sheriffs on nonredeemed sales and repeals conflicting acts, taking effect upon passage.
