New High School Opens for Public Inspection Night program planned
The new high school building in Spencer opens to the public Friday from 2 30 to 5 30 pm with guided tours of all rooms and facilities. An 8 pm program features talks by Fred L Mahannah and A H Avery and a basketball game between Algona and Spencer high schools with 25 cent admission.

Death and Funeral of Ed Landers at Gillett Grove
Ed Landers of Gillett Grove died by his own hand after financial pressure and losses from the Gillett Grove fire and a looming farm debt due March first. He was well liked with a large circle of friends and was a Royal Arch Mason. The funeral Friday afternoon at the M B church featured Masons, toastmaster Professor Avery, Chaplain Rev Morrow, and addresses by Rev Jos Pickersgill. Remains were taken to Winterset for interment. sincere sympathy sent to the bereaved family.
