The Pixies play at Grand Opera House drew crowds with notable performances by Mary Leard Darrell Nutting Lucile Meyer and others in a wooded set with a poppy throne. A complimentary party at the Mortenson home hosted by Danish Lutheran church members honored the couple with a gift of table linen and a supper served by the Ladies Aid.

The evening ended with supper and a smoker.

Two Old Settlers Pass Away in Clay County
Long obituary recounts the lives of Cornelius Lounsberry and his wife Rosella as early settlers who homesteaded south of the city. Lounsberry born February 1 1801 in Belfast New York, moved west, settled in Clay County in 1869, and farmed over thirty years. Mrs Lounsberry died 1910 after a lingering illness. their son Frank died at sixteen. He spent his final year in Belmont New York with his niece and died peacefully after seven weeks of illness, buried beside his wife in Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs Griffith Dies After Week Long Illness
Mrs Jane Grath died yesterday afternoon after a brief illness surrounded by her children and grandson Colin Parry. Born March 2 841 in Chenayowon County NL Wales she journeyed to the United States with Ryan Crilith in 1866. They settled in Columbus Hodge Wiss where Mr Griffith aided a physician. The couple moved to Wiss in 1870. Continued on Page Five.

Thompson of Dickens Returns Home From Western Trip
Hane from Western frig Mi, Thompson of Dickens returned tubles, traveled through Croatie three anuntles west ern temp. ble left early in Deventer, to Omaha and Meat where to Denver, Colo to Springs, Salt Lake and Idaho. He saw a hinge portion of the country and enjoyed the scenic parts of the trip. In Boise he made excursions to other places where his brothers and sisters live. Before leaving far lower Mas Chomp son toured Oregon and Washington, returning via Minneapolis. He met many old City County residents including Ackley Hub now of Minneapolis and Wells formerly mayor of Spencer. After all, Mr. Shom son says there is no place like Clay County and Clay County friends. Mrs. H. E. Jones of Rockwell City visited her son Verle, the pharmacist at Haygarth drug store.
