The Commercial Travelers held their annual banquet at the Methodist church last Saturday. A five course dinner was served by the Ladies Aid society. Charley Thompson Beats Chas Miller In Fast Wrestling Match
A Thursday night bout at the Grand Opera House matched Charley Thompson of South Dickens against Chas Miller of Jeresford. After eleven minutes Thompson pinned Miller with a head scissors and body hold, and after a second heat of about thirty minutes Thompson again won by forcing Miller to submit to a head and leg lock.

The Webb Record reports the death of Mrs. Martha M. Maclay mother of Mrs. Alvin Sanderson at her home and of Edward Maclay of Spencer. She was over eighty six. A pioneer of Clay County she arrived after the Civil War and lived with her daughter in recent years. Born Martha Pierpoint in 1827 in Vermont she married Geo. Maclay in 1850 and they moved from Wisconsin to Iowa in 1860 then to Clay in 1868. Funeral was held Sunday February 8 at Webb.
