Post Office Election Talk in Sioux Rapids Panel
Karl Bronsen Democratic committeeman and Dr Vai Sterbert of Storm Lake met with two candidates to decide a local post office race. Hulnquist and Whitehead would face a vote among Sioux Rapids electors with the lowest vote withdrawing for the winner. The election date is set for Monday between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. The report appears in the Republican Press.

Anna Christine Berg born July 7 Isiad Throndhjen Norway came to America in 1818 at fourteen lived in Chicaze four years then moved to Clay county in 1877 homesteaded Summit township taught school near Motherville, married B Bjornstad in Isis Minneapolis then Spencer to raise five children Otto Lena Carl Arthur Edwin. She died within a day of paralysis and funeral near Long Riverside church drawn large crowd praising her life and devotion to family.

High School Declamatory Contest At Opera House
The high school declamatory contest was held last Friday at the Opera House despite a stormy evening and smaller audience. Roscoe Kr. Stewart won first overall and will advance to the sub district contest, with Julius Glasgow second. Victoria Allen led in Dramatic class with Seaton second, Marie Louis Carlson won Humorous class, and the overall event earned silver medals for top finishers.
