Strawberries and festival fill Sparta streets
The town extols Prof. W. Ne Mason of Sparta High School for supplying fine strawberries and promoting a strawberry short cake festival at the Good Templars room in Warner House Hall to aid a charitable cause, while local notices advertise sales, confectionery, and a county fair push. The piece also previews the Milwaukee Soldiers Home benefit and Fourth of July events in nearby towns, with updates on crops, weather, and a fatal wagon accident near Cataract ending in tragedy for the Chidester family.
