In Chicago grain markets on Friday, futures for grain and soybeans fell after a calm harvest and a bearish USDA quarterly stocks report. Wheat stocks stood at 2.15 billion bushels, about 50 million above forecasts, soybeans at 248 million, around 21 million above expectations, while corn was 1.9 billion bushels, shy of the 1.93 billion anticipated.
Stock markets end day with Dow Jones up to 8,847.56, led by strong gains across the NYSE and Nasdaq. Major indexes like S&P 500 at 1040.94 and Nasdaq Composite at 1498.80 show broad strength as volume nears 1.98 billion on consolidated NYSE trades.
