NYC to round out skyline with tallest Ferris wheel
New York plans a 625 foot Ferris wheel in Staten Island called the New York Wheel costing 230 million dollars. The privately financed project aims to attract 4.5 million visitors annually, create 1,100 jobs, and include a 100 shop mall and a 200 room hotel. Mayor Bloomberg and others tout it as a city defining icon expected to operate by 2015.
