Texas ends last meals for condemned inmates
Texas prison officials moved to stop last meal choices for inmates scheduled for execution after Sen. John Whitmire criticized the practice. Lawrence Brewer, executed for the James Byrd Jr. dragging death, did not receive his requested feast. The policy change makes meals the same as other offenders two hours before execution.
