Governor unhappy pensions may wait
Illinois Governor Pat Quinn warns pension reform action is unlikely this fall and aims for a January vote after lawmakers’ rules change. Senate President Cullerton and House Speaker Madigan indicate the earliest practical passage is Jan 1, with disagreements over shifting employee pension costs to schools and potential property tax effects. Quinn plans a statewide push and meetings with legislative leaders but won't call new sessions until a workable plan exists. Associated Press.
