STATHEART honored for speed across Southern Illinois hospitals
The STATHEART program started in 2007 and now spans 10 hospitals from Chester to Eldorado. It has treated 647 heart attack patients, aims for door-to-balloon within 90 minutes, and reports a 83 minute median this year. Teamwork, 24 hour on call cardiologists, rapid transfers to Memorial Hospital Carbondale, and EMS coordination drive faster treatment and higher patient satisfaction.
