Montreal college gunman leaves trail of death and fear
A young man in a black trench coat and mohawk opened fire at Dawson College in Montreal during lunch, killing a woman and wounding at least 19 others before police fatally shot him. Police ruled out terrorism as a motive. Students fled into streets as panicked crowds gathered outside. Witnesses recalled random shooting and chaotic scenes with bloodstained clothing and cries for help. Authorities evacuated nearby shopping centers and a daycare amid the crisis.

Carbondale pauses downtown Wi Fi project awaiting state grant

Longtime pilot inducted into Illinois Aviation Hall of Fame
Ronald Kelly grew up in Galesburg loving airplanes and model planes. He served in the U S Air Force 1956 1960 and trained as a pilot in 1959. At Southern Illinois University Carbondale he taught aviation for 25 years and led SIUC Air Institute from 1977 to 1989. After retiring in 1991 he taught aviation management, traveling to military bases while helping others pursue flight careers.
