A tornado swept from the sea into Breezy Point on the Rockaway peninsula in Queens causing roof and window damage to seaside cabanas and homes. Residents reported a train-like roar as debris flew and power was knocked out while a storm line moving through the mid- Atlantic and Northeast threatened more twisters.
