Telethon raises 61.5 million as Lewis absence noted
The Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon in Las Vegas raised about 61.5 million dollars, about 2.6 million more than last year, despite Jerry Lewis not participating. Nigel Lythgoe expressed regret Lewis did not appear and said the fundraiser must press on. An orchestra waited to film Lewis but he did not attend.
