Harmony Freewill Baptist Church marks 180 years across two counties
Harmony Freewill Baptist Church near West Frankfort celebrates 180 years serving Franklin and Williamson counties. The sanctuary sits astride the county line, with parts in each county, including the rostrum in Franklin and the entrance in Williamson. A 1937 fire led to rebuilding on the same parcel, again splitting the sanctuary by county. Pastor Curtis Smith notes he preaches in both counties and weddings require flexibility.
