Camp meeting planned at Little Grassy
The 20th annual Southern Illinois Camp Meeting of the Seventh-day Adventists will be Sept 13 to 16 at Little Grassy Lake near Carbondale, serving 16 churches in southern Illinois. Sessions run daily with evening keynote by Andrew Fearing, plus Harold Flint and others. a Revelation study and university ministry courses also offered.

Rev. Murriel Nance 47 will lead the Wesley Foundation at Southern Illinois University starting August 1, succeeding Rev. Gerald L. Gulley. A Carbondale native, he formerly led Carlyle First United Methodist Church, holds degrees from SIU Carbondale and Eden Seminary, and has long served United Methodist ministries. He and his wife Janette have four children.

The church will hold its first regular service Sunday in Laborers' Union Hall, 101 S. Graham St. Carbondale. Sunday school starts 10 a.m. with preaching at 11 a.m. Evening service 7 30 p.m. Mid week service Thursday 7 30 p.m. Rev. Ken Love serves as pastor. he has 25 years in ministry and has led churches in North Carolina Tennessee Virginia and Indiana. He and his wife June have four children.
