Centreville Township Officials’ Pay Scrutinized

In southwestern Illinois Centreville Township leaders face scrutiny as several top executives received sizable raises in May. Supervisor Joe Touchette rose from 56000 to 65000. Clerk Mike Crockett from 44610 to 57500. Highway Commissioner George Touchette from 47490 to 57500. The township bought Crockett a 42475 luxury SUV, initially misattributed to Touchette. Crockett cites duties as security chief and prior knee operations for the vehicle need. The pay levels trace to the late Francis Touchette, a longtime Democratic power broker, a practice tied to multiple Touchettes.
