Ware resident Michael McLane turned a hobby into Lotus Naturescapes a 10 acre water garden center at the intersection of Illinois 3 and 146. The site offers 225 kinds of stone water lilies cattails lotus iris ornamental grasses and pond supplies. Customers come from up to 200 miles including St Louis area Indiana and Louisiana as McLane plans a spring greenhouse and expanded rock selections.
