The Windings family converted aquaculture training into Windings Farm a large freshwater prawn business in Villa Ridge and Alto Pass Illinois. John Jerald and Danny Windings run operations with 11 ponds in Villa Ridge and three in Alto Pass aiming to harvest 10000 pounds. They hand-harvest grade rinse ice bath de-head, freeze and package shrimp and sell at Southern Illinois fairs under Seafood from the Heartland.
