Shimkus Wins Sixth Term Amid Foley Scandal

U S Rep John Shimkus is re-elected to a sixth term, overcoming weeks of Foley scandal criticism. By 10:30 p.m. he led with 102,282 votes or 60 percent versus Democrat Danny Stover who had 69,106 votes or 40 percent. Shimkus, 48, of Collinsville, continues representing Illinois 19th District covering 30 counties in the Deep South region.
