Former POW returns to Vietnam to bring remains home
Air Force Reserve Maj. Gen. Edward Mechenbier pilots the C-141 Hanoi Taxi back to Vietnam to fly home two remains believed to be of fallen comrades. He once rode the same plane from Hoa Lo prison in 1978, calling the mission a fitting end to his military career and noting the aircraft’s status as a flying museum marked by POW signatures. Return With Honor decorates the plane as it carried the cases draped in American flags.
