Luechtefeld denies district office used to aid Supreme Court bid
State senator Luechtefeld denies involvement in a political attack after a mailer alleged his Okawville district office produced more than 1,000 pages of e mails memos and letters to help Karmeier a Supreme Court candidate. The package claimed official stationery and a trash retrieval origin. Campaign aides and opponents rejected any improper activity and distance the district seat from campaign work. The dispute centers on the Fifth District race for the high court seat vacated by Justice Rarick with Maag and Karmeier as rivals.
