Illinois seeks injunction over unlicensed Arkansas grain dealer
The Illinois Department of Agriculture filed for an injunction to bar Arkansas dealer Jerry W Hayes from buying grain in Jackson County without a license. The action cites unfair competition against Illinois licensed dealers who must post bonds from 25 000 to 100 000, provide financial statements and undergo annual audits. Hayes is said to have used Dillinger's Feed Store scales in Carbondale to weigh more than 12 000 bushels bought from a local farmer.
