Joliet bus drivers unpaid amid RTA subsidy cut
Joliet bus service halted as 40 drivers reported for a scheduled 17 routes but were unpaid after the RTA cut off an $80,000 subsidy. Union leader John Weatherspoon said drivers would not work without pay and may apply for unemployment. cab drivers threaten a strike within two weeks if better representation and contracts are denied.
